Friends of Indus Hospital (FOIH) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting the Indus Hospital & Health Network (IHHN), the largest network of free healthcare services in Pakistan. FOIH raises funds and awareness within Pakistani-American communities to help IHHN provide high-quality, free healthcare to people in need, regardless of their background or financial situation.
Founded in 2007, IHHN has grown from a single hospital in Karachi to a nationwide network that includes hospitals, rehabilitation centers, blood banks, mobile clinics, and boat clinics. The network serves over 6 million patients annually, offering services like cancer care, dialysis, maternal health, orthopedics, and more. IHHN also supports Pakistan's public health sector by aiding government facilities and addressing shortages of healthcare professionals through educational initiatives such as the Indus University of Health Sciences.
FOIH plays a key role in funding critical services and specialized programs, including childhood cancer treatment, organ transplants, and maternal health. Zakat donations are crucial in supporting these initiatives. As a registered 501(c)(3) organization, donations made through FOIH are eligible for tax deductions, and zakat contributions are fully utilized to provide free healthcare services to those in need. Every donation, including zakat, directly impacts the lives of underserved communities, funding life-saving treatments, medical equipment, and facility expansions.
By supporting FOIH, you’re helping build a healthier future for Pakistan and ensuring compassionate care for those who need it most, especially through the power of zakat.
