Globally, 300 million children are out-of-school - predominantly in underserved communities such as rural villages, urban slums, and refugee settlements (UNESCO 2024). This education crisis disproportionately affects girls, ethnic minorities, and displaced populations and stems from the lack of schools and lack of trained teachers.
By setting up innovative, one-room classrooms to teach reading, writing and foundational math to out-of-school children through learning games on digital devices, to children aged 5–17 in marginalized communities, Teach the World is providing access to literacy at a large scale. Since 2018, TTW has impacted over 20,000 learners in Pakistan, Bangladesh and Malawi - areas with acute poverty and alarming lack of literacy. Internal and independent evaluations show strong learning gains up to 2.5x higher than peers in traditional classrooms, with increased participation by girls. With these promising results, the aim is to reach an additional 20,000 learners in the next 2 years, with your help
This is still a drop in the ocean, but will help us to build a foundation to reach millions of learners within the next 5-10 years.
Your contribution WILL make an impact, whether you donate $5 or $500. Every little bit helps. To give you some perspective on how even a small donation can change the lives of a child: -$100 will educate a child for one year, and $2,500 will teach a whole class of 25 children - to read, write and do 4 functions of math within a year of learning!
Do follow our social media (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and Youtube) to find success stories of students learning and going on to continue their learning journey in senior schools, or contributing to their apprenticeships in a more meaningful way. Their life trajectory, because of literacy, changes dramatically!
